NCAIE Virtual Meet-Up: Exchange Study in Germany through the Baden-Württemberg/North Carolina Program
April 28 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Coordinators from the BW/NC Exchange Program between UNC System institutions and the nine research universities in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, will go over program information and general issues of interest for exchange study in Germany. Education abroad programs in Germany are an excellent way for students to experience and become more familiar with one of North Carolina’s most important trade partners, with over 230 German firms operating in the state, employing almost 45,000 North Carolinians.
One of only five such exchanges supported by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts, the BW/NC Program offers semester- or year-long exchange in Germany. This session will highlight the program’s benefits, including a guaranteed scholarship of 710 Euro. Attendees will learn about universities in Baden-Württemberg, how students can join this program without prior knowledge of German, and support structures for students and study advisors. Attendees will also learn about professional development and networking opportunities for staff and faculty through the BW/NC Program.
Participants will have time to ask questions and offer suggestions how make the program more suitable to their institution. This session is geared toward education abroad staff from UNC System universities, but there will valuable insights for a general audience interested in learning more about exchange study in Germany.
